Al-hamdulillah, we had the first Shahada taking place in the valley! Thanks to the good work of Sheik Imran Hosein, the Wake-up-Project and inspired by a close friend, a German brother converted four weeks ago. He is taking steps now to stay permanently in the valley as he likes the place very much. InsyaAllah Allah will make his way smooth and his affairs easy in order that we get good company here! He brought a book written by Bill Mollisson concerning permaculture and we are trying to implement it now in the valley.
We started training on the new horseback-archery track. Ameerah is such a beautiful horse that not much exercise is needed. Where other horses need months of training, she learns it in 2-3 lessons! She is already used to sword and bow, and started with jumping exercises as well. After galloping the track the first times quite in a hurry when left without the reigns, she soon found her pace at which we feel most comfortable and finishes the 90m in a smooth 12 to 13 seconds canter. Some little work has still to be done though: More soft soil must be put on to protect the arrows from stones and the target must be built.
