There are no specific requirements for joining except this: You should consider yourself Muslim and only Muslim! If you still have other labels like Sufi or Salafi, please follow your respective Amir or Sheik. We do not only want to escape the godless society ruled by Dajjal but also the sectarian divisions plaguing the ummah. At the same time we try to keep silutarrahim with all Muslims, taking the best from every group but subscribing to none.
The living expenses are very low! With less than 100.- € one can already live comfortably if one has an accommodation (besides the visa extensions and the accompanying travel). It will be quite impossible to find paid work over here. One can however invest in or built up a local business, but if one is able to set up a business over internet (e.g. translations works etc.), then this might be a better solution.
There are several options (which might change over time as project is still under development. We welcome suggestions or criticism):
1) Rent an accommodation in the valley for the short or long term. The main house has three rooms, which can be rent out, and construction of more simple houses will proceed insyaAllah. For short term up to one week there is no fee, feel welcome as our guest. For a longer stay it is Rp. 120.000 a day including meals. To people well known to us we might also offer a 30 years (extendable to 80 years) rental contract of a place in the valley with terms depending on personal circumstances or even sell a plot of land. In case nothing is available in the valley itself or one wants to save a bit: One always can rent a room in Molibagu for around 2 Euros a night or rent a house in some neighbouring village for around 40 Euro a month. This is is what we did ourselves before our house (picture above) was ready.

(dimensions are not accurate!!!)
2) The cheapest long term option might be to buy oneself some land, preferably in proximity to the valley, and to build oneself a home. Be aware that as a foreigner you cannot 'own' the land. You will have to buy it on the name of a trustworthy Indonesian. You can rent only legally a house and 2000 m2 around it for 30 years (extendable up to 80 years)! There is also the possibility to open a business, which enables you to really own the place and in addition to get a residence permit. A bit complicated though and not cheap (but not expensive either). You can get more information about that at www.okusi.net.
3) The beach part below belongs to the valley. Anybody who wants to put up his tent there or build himself a simple hut (out of natural materials) may do so free of charge. No rental agreement needed, but of course we expect the guests to behave themselves. It is also a condition to have proper passport and visa as well as no polluting of the place with whatever waste. Whoever wants professional help with building a hut: With around 300 Euro a decent hut can be built already. Do not invest too much because in case the property will be allocated for a project, we will give only three months advanced notice insyaAllah.
