Concept

It is wajib for any Muslim to strive for the establishment of Islam on the earth, even if its is only in his own home. But, todays situation in the world may make one question if the establishment of "Darul Islam" is a possibility. Concerning the macrocosmos, the answer may be quite certainly be answered with 'No' because the secular powers hold this world in its grip. However, it might be still be possible to establish a place in the microcosmos, where life resembles as far as possible the ideal of Darul Islam.

According to a hadith sahih, somebody who revives the Sunnah at a time, when the Sunnah is already destroyed, gets the reward of 100 times Shahied! Unfortunately, modern life is far from being according to Sunnah. And, true Sunnah cannot be lived alone, it needs a Jamaat! But where can one find a taste of the original spirit of Islam? Where can one find real brotherhood and the feeling of working together for one goal: the pleasure of Allah s.w.t.?

A new concept

Any deeds, Da'wah included, should follow the example of the Prophet s.a.w., so how can there be a new concept for Da'wah? Actually, it is not new, but it is the translation of the ancient principles into a new context.

Medinah
We see in history of Islam, that the Prophet's s.a.w. Da'wah became really successful once he could establish himself in Medinah. The reason was that he finally found a base where to establish the seeds of the Islamic state and where new Converts could practice their new religion in safety and in community, and where interested people could come and hear about the principles of Islam and feel its spirit without being harassed. Even prisoners of war, bound to the pillar of the mosque, became Converts because they witnessed the life of the Muslim community.

No Ansars anymore
Nowadays, where can people go and experience the "real" Islam? Where can they emigrate to where they could practice their new religion without disturbance from their former life and learning from a dynamic community which does work hard on themselves to establish the Sunnah, until they themselves are firm in faith? We see only that all so called Islamic Countries do not welcome new Converts and do not give them full rights as citizen. The life of these societies are in general far from the Sunnah but follow a globalized materialistic lifestyle with an Islamic touch. The dreadful result is that many of the new Converts leave again disappointed Islam, practice some kind of "modern Islam" or end up in a sect which gives them eventually this feeling of community they were actually seeking.

Lost Muslim youth ?
We can also witness that the young people in these so called Islamic countries are often more interested in western culture rather than Islamic culture because what they experience in their daily live doesn't touch their heart, mind and spirit. They are torn between admiration of the West and hatred of the West, but see no real alternative and goal to strive for, some even becoming victims of extremists.

And ourselves ?
We have to admit that the stress of modern life does prevent us much from actually performing Islam as it should be done because Islam is much more than just praying five times a day! Even in the few minutes of our prayer, our minds are still busy with our daily business. Therefore we are not much in a position to give a shining example to our children, let alone Non-Muslims!

A possible solution ?
A place far away from "modern life", an oasis, where not only Non-Muslims can experience the spirit of Islam and Converts can stay as long as it is needed for them to become firm in their faith, but where we ourselves and our families can get also some kind of "refreshment", a reminder on the glorious past of Islam and an inspiration for the future. The concept is to establish Medinah and the hospitality of the Ansars ... once again!

The Central House, a first place to stay for newcomers

How?

The place must be special! It should be more than a conventional Da'wah Center where booklets are distributed which answer questions like: "What are the pillars of Islam?" It must be a place where people come and say: "Wow! Here is where I want to stay!" And they are welcome! They must feel: Here is something different: Here is peace and brotherhood! Here is power and purity! Here is God's blessing!

From the outside the place will appear as a Muslim Holiday Resort where different activities are offered, especially horseback-archery, which is becoming popular now worldwide. There are not many places yet who offer this ancient art so we will be among the avant-garde.

Here one can see a demonstration of horseback archery (Lajos Kassai, Hungary).

Muhammad Fazl ur-Rahman Al-Ansari wrote a book, on which principles a village should be built: The Qur'anic Foundations and Structure of Muslim Society, 2 Vol. The foundation of the village is Qur'an and Sunnah, the center the Masjid.
